Pokémon TCG turns 30: one Pikachu rare in every pack?
The official 30th Celebration details: 30 Pikachu rare cards, a 30-card Classic Collection, and what “one per pack” actually means.

What has been announced?
Pokémon says 30th Celebration launched across participating markets on September 16, 2026. The official set page lists more than 150 cards, 30 Pikachu rare cards, 30 cards in the Classic Collection, and more than 20 new illustration rare and special illustration rare cards. Product assortments and local availability can vary, so check your retailer before buying.
Read “one per pack” carefully
The official set page says every 30th Celebration booster pack contains one Pikachu rare card. It does not say all 30 appear in one pack, or that buying 30 packs guarantees 30 different versions. The announcement does not give enough information to calculate the odds for any particular card.
The Classic Collection has different play legality
Pokémon’s TCG Live announcement says cards in the main expansion become legal for Play! Pokémon tournament play on September 25, 2026, while the Classic Collection subset is not tournament legal. Collectibility and tournament legality are separate questions.
If you are checking prices now
Similar names and artwork do not prove two products are the same printing. Match language, card number and whether the item is from the main set, Classic Collection or a promo. Do not treat an early high asking price as an established market value. Check the source and observation date on TCGIndex, then verify actual stock and terms with the seller.
