Three decks, one box: Japan’s new MEGA set

Special Deck Set MEGA launches in Japan on November 13. Rather than a random booster chase, this box contains three fixed 60-card decks built around different Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.

Mega Feraligatr ex: the condition behind 400

MG 003/038’s Killer Crunch starts at 200 damage and adds 200 if the opponent’s Active Pokémon already has damage counters. That setup condition is the point of the card, not an unconditional 400-damage promise.

Mega Dragonite ex: plan the next move

MG 022/038’s Sky Carry lets you switch your Active Pokémon with a Benched Pokémon once during your turn. Its 330-damage attack also discards two Energy, giving the deck a distinct rhythm.

Mega Gengar ex: a shield for Darkness Pokémon

MG 014/038 reduces the Prizes your opponent takes by one when their Pokémon ex’s attack Knocks Out one of your Darkness Pokémon. Multiple copies of the Ability do not stack.

Which deck would you play first?

Each deck includes two copies of its headline Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. The set includes three decks, three coins, a playmat and storage accessories. Japan’s tax-inclusive MSRP is ¥5,500; this announcement does not establish a Korean release or Korean retail price.

What changes for collectors?

The appeal here is a known deck list and a choice of play styles rather than a random booster hit. Check the Japanese MG printings separately: 003/038, 022/038 and 014/038. The official product notes also include reprinted cards, so a new box does not mean every card is a debut. ¥5,500 is the official Japanese product MSRP, not a singles price, completed sale or overseas landed cost. Exact MG Japanese singles prices remain unverified. Announcement dated October 16; content checked October 17, 2026. Our play-style discussion is interpretation of the published card effects.
