One MirageGaogamon, two keepsakes: the BT-27 release event
A winter illustration, a shared BT25-029 number and a tiny star. Japan’s December release event gives collectors two different stories around MirageGaogamon.

A small star beneath a winter gathering
A red-cloaked MirageGaogamon stands among little Gaomon in the official winter illustration. The artwork drew our attention to the Japanese BT-27 release-event announcement dated October 30. Then a small detail at the foot of the card changed the way we read the announcement: two images share the same artwork and number, but not every printed mark.
A December meetup in Japan
The announced Japanese event window is December 5–13, 2026, with a twelve-pack BT-27 purchase required to enter. Check TCG+ registration and the participating store’s arrangements. The announcement does not establish a Korean event or Korean-language distribution.
Read the number, then the little star
Both official images show Japanese MirageGaogamon BT25-029. The winner-keepsake/random-prize image carries a star beside SR; the participation image does not. That is an observation of the published markings and allocation, not a physical inspection of foil material.
A keepsake for showing up
There is also a participation version of the winter scene. That makes the illustration a memory of attending as well as competing. You can enjoy the distinction without turning it into a price ranking. A binder page may recall the shop, the match or a conversation more clearly than a number on a price chart.
The pack MSRP does not price the keepsake
IGNITION OF X BT-27 is scheduled for December 5 in Japan: six cards per pack, ¥240 Japanese MSRP including tax. That product figure is not a market price for either event card. Their exact prices and TCGIndex detail connections were unverified in our November 5 check.
What would you want the page to remember?
The useful collecting question is whether the route by which you received a card matters to you. The star and the allocation offer a way to preserve that story. Compare the official originals and your participating store’s notice, then choose the memory you want to keep. We are not forecasting prices, scarcity or how hard the event will be to win.
